Business project
The system proposed, called ENERGAID, consists of an insulating panel for applications in the construction industry that incorporates an internal system for the circulation of fluid that makes the panel “active” in its insulation action. The promoters are looking for industrial partners that are interested in extending/complementing their production (we are therefore addressing the constructions and agri-food industry) with the ENERGAID solution.
Technical content
The core of the product is composed of a traditional insulation cladding system made up of prefabricated panels to be applied to exterior walls. A system of pipes is placed inside the insulating panel in which a low temperature water is made to circulate (max 20°C in winter and minimum 19°C in summer).
The ENERGAID technology does not influence the aesthetical aspect of the original product. ENERGAID, with a thickness in the order of 10 cm, creates a thermal insulation that is comparable to that of over one meter of traditional good quality thermal insulation commonly used in constructions. A proof of concept demonstrator has been made, of which a transportable version is also available and a patent has been filed.
A permanently functioning pilot plant currently on the premises of an independent structure in Lombardy: the first seasoning room for the agro-food industry with energy consumption close to zero; winter and summer tests performed.
Final outlet market and products
The main application fields are temperature-controlled environments for seasoning in the food industry, and the construction industry. The ENERGAID solution can be incorporated also in some types of products for the already existing building envelope, thus regenerating the builders’ proposals with green solutions that are unique to the market. This innovative technological solution allows zero-energy buildings to be air-conditioned. As of 1/1/2014 the additional obligations regarding the employment of renewable energy adds further benefits to this technology.
Financial data
Investment: to be defined on the basis of the sector in which the industrial investor operates.
Yearly energy savings: allows near zero energy consumption in summer and in winter; does not condition energy consumption for ventilation and the control of room relative humidity.
Production cost: compatible with the economic payback of industrial investments; extremely advantageous in comparison with other renewable energy applications.
