Business project
The firm, created two years ago, has to date been fully financed by its owner with its own capital through the subscription and payment of the entire share capital of 50,000 €. The company has no existing payables to suppliers and no existing payables to the banking system. In this phase, funding is necessary for the construction of prototypes which will make up the tangible assets of company equity and be part of the marketing operations required to present the nautical market with trade names and products. A patent has already been filed.
Technical content

The idea behind the project is to construct boats in stainless steel with a total weight that is comparable to that of fibreglass boats, combining the benefits of inox steel (malleability, flexibility, corrosion resistance, aesthetics, reparability) with a reduction in weight. Construction of the hulls will be performed using aeronautical structural adhesives to unite layers of 0.8 to 2 mm thin sheets of steel AISI 316 or Titanium in a “sandwich”, the core of which is made of closed-cell polyurethane foam in various densities and thicknesses.
Final outlet market and products
From the point of view of the nautical market it is the company’s intention to fill the gap that currently exists between extreme boats used in professional boat racing and “glamour” boats that are more suited to staying inside the port rather than navigating. The company does not intend to address the market with a price-based marketing strategy: the uniqueness of the product necessitates a strategy of distinction and exclusivity rather than large numbers. The company is ready to present the market with three products: a 12.19 metre oceanic racing boat (Class40), a “day-sailer” boat of reduced size and cost (in the picture to the side) and the SMARTFOIL (patent) with a submerged appendix and variable wing profile. Despite the economic crisis the market for boats is growing and in Europe is worth 1.12 bn (Source: UCINA – Confindustria nautica).
